Ijeoma Ononogbu

Ijeoma Ononogbu is an International Arbitrator and  Solicitor of England and Wales, with expertise in International Dispute Resolution, International Trade, and International Commercial Law. An international dispute resolution lawyer trained in dual common law jurisdictions, Nigeria and England & Wales. She has an LLM in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution from the Queen Mary University of London. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

She assists, advises, and represents major UK, EU, US, and African multinationals on a wide range of commercial disputes, in both international arbitration and litigation proceedings. She has assisted and represented clients in complex litigation cases in courts of England & Wales. She has been involved in arbitration proceedings conducted before tribunals constituted under the rules of major international arbitration institutions. She has experience in a wide range of industry sectors which include the construction, financial, energy, and telecommunication sectors. Her representation covers all aspects of the arbitral process, including, the negotiation of arbitration clauses in non-contentious settings, the conduct of arbitral proceedings, and advocacy at trial. She is also experienced with handling court litigation supplementary to the arbitral process, including proceedings relating to the enforcement of arbitral awards before the relevant body. Her responsibilities are extensive and include the preparation of court motions and arbitration briefs to leading cross-examination of witnesses in arbitration hearings.

Ijeoma Ononogbu is the Founder and Managing Director of Dispute Resolver, a London-based ADR Consultancy. Dispute Resolver handles a wide range of ADR mechanisms and Legal Technology. The ADR expertise includes arbitration, mediation, conciliation, adjudication, negotiation, and online dispute resolution among others. Dispute Resolver also assists clients in the field of technology and Internet policy. The current focus is on online dispute resolution and legal technology. As a consultancy, Dispute Resolver leverages skills in ADR advising and assisting domestic and international companies. This is with reference to investments and in connection with their disputes on issues of negotiation, and collaboration in international dispute resolution. Ijeoma is passionate about Africa’s dispute resolution platforms.
