Hanna represents some of the world’s leading companies and states in high-value commercial and treaty arbitrations and litigations. Her practice covers pharma, biotech, life sciences, energy (incl. oil, gas, nuclear and renewable) sectors, and also banking, private equity, insurance, telecoms, commodities, consumer goods, satellite & aerospace.
Hanna's research focuses on innovation including in the life sciences and pharma sector and cybersecurity in arbitration. She publishes widely, including in Butterworths Challenges in Arbitration(LexisNexis), and lectures globally.
Hanna is passionate about teaching and mentoring and serves as External Professor for a Masters program in pharmacology, and was awarded two Women in Law Awards for her expertise.
Hanna previously practised at Quinn Emanuel and Freshfields, as well as Lathams where she co-led the global Parent Lawyers Group to ensure that fathers and mothers excel and progress. She has overseen award winning pro bono initiatives.
Hanna hails from Finland where she spent her childhood building dens in the woods with her siblings and cousins, caring for pets from gerbils to lost dogs, playing the piano, singing in a Purcell opera (slightly off-key) and reading her Finlandia Prize-winning grandpa's books. Hanna graduated high school in California.
Her free time revolves around her surgeon husband and two cheeky sons, running, yoga, barre and keeping the family moving and sane in Lockdown.
